BT was my first real taste of Bourbon (not counting MM in my younger years)... and roughly a dozen bourbons later, it's still in my top 2, if not #1. Knob Creek is really the only brand that contends against it from the whiskies I've purchased (imo), and that is roughly $8 more per 750ml, so value is very high... again simply my opinion.
Keep in mind, I've enjoyed almost all bourbons I've sampled, JBB being the only true exception. I haven't had the pleasure of trying the Van Winkle line... been holding off until I develope my palate more, but BT is a Bourbon I can always go back to and always be impressed.
