Review from LogicalFrank (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 1732, Created:20091019224405)
Purchased at:Binny's South Loop
Nose:Up front and strong. Leather, earth and green grass. Kind of a muddle but pleasant enough.
Taste:Disappointingly light. Some citrus notes poke out around the edges but taste mostly follows the aroma here.
Finish:Citrus notes open up a little more and are complimented by a warming alcohol presence. Fairly quick but not w/o its charms.
Overall:For an eighty proof whiskey its nice and flavorful but it lacks the husky punch of its big brother. It is a simple whiskey w/ a fairly rich flavor but perhaps lacking a bit of depth and complexity. Seems like it'd make for a good choice for those who prefer their whiskey on the rocks.
