Review from Dump Bucket (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 1539, Created:20090416185836, Updated:20090517202346) | Purchased at: | DC someplace | | Purchased for: | $15 I think | | Info on this bottle: | 1979 90 Proof Prime, no age statement | | Nose: | Very, very similar to the 80 proof 7 yr, but thinner with a little more citrus. They may have increassed the proof to offset the lack of years. I would guess 4-6 yrs in that area. | | Taste: | Taste is very close. You have a very hard time telling them apart, but there is a slim addition of citrus and a drop of vanilla... but if you did not have them side-by-side, you would never know | | Finish: | A little citrus and a little less vanilla again compaired to the 80 proof 7 yr ... but that would be it... | | Overall: | A very close 2nd to the 7 yr 80 proof from 1977. I would guess it is 2 yrs younger and a little blend of newer distilled juice. |
