Review from bourbonv (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 83) | Purchased at: | Liquor Outlet in Shively | | Info on this bottle: | Barrel No. 37, Hand Bottled 5-00 | | Proof Of this Bottle: | 99 | | Nose: | Vanilla and oak resting in a field of violets. | | Taste: | Smooth and dry. The tannins from the wood start with a dry mouth feel when all of the sudden a sweet caramel kicks in with a hint of allspice. | | Finish: | Dry tannins underlay the sweet fruity finish. A spiced fried apple or pear sweetness with a slight caramel touch. | | Overall: | This is a good sipping bourbon to have with a smoke of fine pipe tobacco or a dark cigar. The tannins make the bourbon noticed in the smoke while the sweetness just goes well with a good smoke. |
