Review from bourbonv (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 83)
Purchased at:Liquor Outlet in Shively
Info on this bottle:Barrel No. 37, Hand Bottled 5-00
Proof Of this Bottle:99
Nose:Vanilla and oak resting in a field of violets.
Taste:Smooth and dry. The tannins from the wood start with a dry mouth feel when all of the sudden a sweet caramel kicks in with a hint of allspice.
Finish:Dry tannins underlay the sweet fruity finish. A spiced fried apple or pear sweetness with a slight caramel touch.
Overall:This is a good sipping bourbon to have with a smoke of fine pipe tobacco or a dark cigar. The tannins make the bourbon noticed in the smoke while the sweetness just goes well with a good smoke.
