The extra 7% (yielding 100 proof) alcohol and $4 in cost for the OF Singature makes a world of difference in the taste of OF in my opinion.

Thanks for the suggestion, Mike. I think i'll give the Signature a try in the near future. It HAS to be better than my experience with the OF 86.

I found OF 86 proof to be the absolute worst bourbon I have tried thus far. I have an almost full bottle that's been sitting for close to 6 months now. It will not be consumed. I hate to be critical of any bourbon, knowing the time and effort that goes into it, and the vast spectrum of varying tastes. But for me, this stuff was just awful. It still smells of musty, rotten bananas.
Too much of anything is bad, but too much of good whiskey is barely enough.

well, from the opposite end, i might have given the 86 a chance...i thought the Signature was really nice and a true bargain (like OGD, Weller Antique...). i think i'll wait. :geek:
