Shipyard Beer

Unread postby Mike » Mon Sep 12, 2011 2:15 pm

My wife and I were in New England recently and whilst there we visited the Shipyard Brewery in Portland, Maine. The beers they make, in my opinion, are as good as any available anywhere. When we were in Mystic Seaport CN, I had one of their Dubble Thumper beers on tap with a nice flank steak and it was great! I think it was bumping 11% alcohol, so I only had one. Fortunately, I can get most of their beers here in Georgia at 'my' liquor store. If you like flavorful beers, try anything Shipyard offers.

I know this is late for a reply ---

... But I grew up in Scarborough, Maine, right next door to Portland. And I know Shipyard well. Very good stuff. I try to pick up a bottle or two every once in awhile to remind me of home (Total Wine in AZ is awesome for single bottle selections). Glad you liked it!

Did you visit Old Orchard Beach or anything nearer Scarborough?
