A Smith Bowman Distillery Frederickburg, VA

Went to the A. Smith Bowman distillery in Fredericksburg, Virginia yesterday and had a great experience. I was surprised to learn there's only 8 employees at the distillery. The master distiller Brian Prewitt gave me a tasting of their bourbons and a special Caramel Cream liqeur which was like bottled candy. Their products include Bowman Brothers small batch bourbon, John J. Bowman single barrel bourbon, and a limited release called Abraham Bowman that's coming out soon to celebrate their 80th anniversary. Also available at the distillery is George Bowman dark Caribbean rum, Deep Run Virginia vodka, and Sunset Hills Virginia gin. Tours and tastings happen every hour and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They even sell their used bourbon barrels at the distillery when available for only $100 plus tax. I highly recommend checking them out.
