I'm surprised to not see any info on here about this release?

Any one?

Being so far away from the KY scene, what is the best way to find out the range of distribution for limited bottlings like this? Last year WA state switched to private liquor stores, so it feels like there is less of a streamlined opportunity for information. I'm also new to bourbon collecting, so trying to get up to speed on what you 'old pros' do to find the good stuff.

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

I would call the big box stores in your area (Bevmo?), speak to the spirits buyer and ask when their allotment will be in. The big stores get more attention because major players like Beam have much more than Bourbon to sell.

Great suggestion! Thanks!

I've yet to figure out which of the independents are really on top of the special releases.

I bought 3 bottles this weekend. One for my father because he's a big fan, one for a friend who is having his first child and one for me. For those that are looking for it, it's about $120 per bottle and I had to place a special order for it at a local liquor store. I am mostly a beer drinker but I am working on "expanding my palate." I know this is a limited release bottle so I figured that I'd grab one now and hold onto it and save it for a special occasion. Is this something that will grow in value if I hold onto it for a significant period of time like a Pappy van Winkle?

I searched the liquor stores around me for this bourbon, without success. Thanks for sharing how to order it.

Hard to say what might increase in value, Beam products don't seem to have done so, but I am mindful it's illegal for an individual to sell a bottle of whisky. I know it's done but it's still illegal.
