Okay...in my travels (I travel a bunch for work) around various states I always try and pick up what I cannot find at home.

I have been extremely fortunate to locate the 4 bottles of Four Roses 125th Anniversary (as posted about in my other post).

I've also been extremely fortunate to locate a bottle of this years 2013 Pappy 20...I actually had a choice between the 20 and 23...but chose the 20 based on some reviews I have read rating it 99 out of 100...

So...did I choose right?

I have not opened the bottle yet...that will be a special occasion opening...

I have a friend who absolutely loved the only bottle of 23 YO Pappy I ever bought, so I gave it to him. Too tannic even for me, one who appreciates older bourbons. This has been a few years ago and I have never invested in another bottle of the 23 YO.

So, yes, in my opinion you did the right thing. I still have a wee bit of the 20 YO Pappy that I hoard because it is too expensive now, even if you can find it. I think is exceptional bourbon.

I got lucky enough to get a bottle of 20 y/o today for retail!! I had to open it and give it a taste. It has to be the best I have ever had. I have been drinking Bourbon for over 20 years and just recently started trying different brands and learning the different taste associated. I guess I am finally growing UP. Anyways for a man from Kentucky it has been a pleasure to have a bottle of Pappy. Only hope I can get a few more!
