Pappy Van Winkle

Unread postby NoirBourbon » Tue Sep 24, 2013 3:49 pm

I have a spare bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 23 year old I am looking to trade for a bottle of Pappy 20 year old. I have had the good fortune of coming into 3 bottles of the 23 year old in my lifetime, but the 20 year old has always eluded me. I have a bottle of the 10 year old, I've tasted (and quote enjoyed) the 12 year old, but am most interested in adding the 20 year old to my vast collection. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Thanks.

the 20 is by far the best and usually scores the highest the rarity of the 23 is the white elephant factor
i have two 10's one 12 one 15 and one 20
i am trying to complete a collection of one each (drank my 23) so this is going to be hard without cracking into them along the way :D

I was able to track down 2 bottles of the ten year
Paid 49.99 for the one, and 139 for the other

I was on a waiting list, and received a call this morning.
I was told they were out of the 20, but had everything else.

I told her to give me 15, and asked how much?......299.99

I had to pass... And then asked... How much for the 10?.... 139.00

I had my first taste of Pappy the day before , and was worried I may never get my hands on it again.

So. I unhapply paid 100 over retail for the bottle.
I guess I should start saving for next year

I wouldn't worry about Pappy availability, Buffalo Trace is in no danger of running out of whisky.
