Last night was a 50/50 Van Winkle 107 10yo and 12 yo Lot B. Excellent. Finished off the evening with some Evan Williams Single Barrel, also excellent.

Tonight I will be throwing a farewell party for a bottle of Old Grand Dad. Gonna miss that one but this means it's time to decide on the next adventure.

Try as I might I cannot bring myself to open more than 2 bottles at a time. Time to bite the Bulleit?

EWSB 2004. Good, but not wonderful like the 2003.

I hosted family from out of state. I served Early Times Mint Julep. It's a 60 proof whiskey with sugar and mint. I served it in Kentucky Derby glasses and everyone enjoyed it. :D I don't usually drink the sweet stuff but it was good and fun with respect to tradition here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The bottle is a comemorative churchill downs item, and it was only $17 bucks for a liter of the stuff.

As bottled mint juleps go that's about as good as any.

on purpose?

I finally opened that WFE 8 year the other day in celebration, and was a bit disappointed, as I swear it is 8 year barrel proof Forester. It has that BF taste to it.

today, tried the new WTRB before going out, and a flight at dinner of Wathens, KCSB, and EC12. the EC may have been the best of all of them tonight.
