There is significant variabilty among batch numbers in Jefferson's Presidential Select. The earliest batch numbers (1 and 2) are superior to the later numbers.

A liter of EW Black and a bottle of Mellow Corn.

I got the EW because it's a good all around bourbon; mix it with ginger beer, drink it neat, make an old fashioned or whiskey sour, etc, etc.

The Mellow Corn was only $11, so I couldn't pass it up.

I like the Mellow Corn. It is a nice change of pace every now and then.

The other week I finally picked up a bottle of Old Grand Dad. That was one I'd been meaning to try for some time, but always walked away with something else. I'm glad I finally picked up a bottle since I really enjoyed it.

Then the other night, after many many months of putting it off, I went home with a bottle of Rare Breed tucked under my arm and a grin on my face. Easily one of my favorite bourbons and I'm glad to have another bottle on my shelf. It had been about 18 mos. since the last I had had any RB due to buying and trying other bourbons. I decided it had been long enough. After my purchase, I made my way home in the cold rain, at some homemade chicken pot-pie, then sat by the fireplace with a cigar and a snifter of this marvelous nectar!

I brought home 2 more bottles of the Four Roses Limited Release small batch (2011). I think its a great bourbon! Also got some Jim Beam Black. I have a bottle of 8 year old Jim Beam that was distilled in 1967 and bottled in 1975. I want to compare the current version with the older version

Heck of a deal. I used to bring spirits back when I went to Ontario all the time.

how has this thread not been posted to in almost a year?

Old Weller Antique 107 single barrel from Julio's, Westboro, Mass bottled for Loch n Key society.

I just realized I have 3 different single barrel expressions of OWA107 but still have never tried the "new label" stuff.

took an international flight this weekend so checked duty free and while WT 8 year has gone up $7 a liter, they had WT 12 year at $40 which I hadn't seen in Boston Logan last year when I went through there a few times.

Went to a store that I have found BTAC and Van Winkle before and was not dissappointed. After a year and a half of searching, I finally found a bottle of WLW. I can't wait to try it.
