Hi

What is the difference from Silgle Barrel? I saw Silver Select is 50° (100 Proof) and Single Barrel 45°. Same age with less water?

Pretty much the same except for proof. Of course JD has umpteen zillions of gallons aging on different floors of their warehouses so barrels can be blended to a slightly different product profile but it's still all 4-5 year stuff and remains identifiable Jack Daniels.

JD has such a loyal customer base they can continue to charge extra for slight variations which is quite a marketing coup when you think about it.

BF seems to have some kind of hangup about offering anything in barrel proof, or anything even over 100 proof.....which is why theres none in my house. I can add water myself, at least give me the option.

Apparently, there will be a single barrel, cask strength Jack Daniels. If you search the internet, you will find multiple sites commenting on the cask strength. It was to be released in August; however, I didn't see any in the stores during my recent visit to Kentucky.

The Silver Select is also export only. It isn't available in the US.
