I have a bottle of Devil's Cut

Unread postby Mike » Thu Aug 27, 2015 5:40 pm

It is number one on my list of the worst whiskies for the money. It is a gimmick whiskey for which Beam should be ashamed.

P.S. I had a bottle of Larceny, which, in my opinion, is also a disappointment.

Your mileage will vary.

Another thumbs down for Devil's Cut. One wonders if they were producing this all along to add a bit of spice to the basic labels. As a stand alone I'm unmoved by the novelty.

Ive only had it when given shots of it by a friend, and at a graduation party. I thought it pretty 'meh'. not bad, not good, but good enough for free!

I have another friend who doesnt like it on its own, but thinks it makes the best bourbon and coke.

if we all liked the same things, this place would get boring!

I;m generally not a fan of any Beam product, especially Devil's Cut.

Devils cut is a big time gimmick, and it gave me a splitting headache with one pour. The extract a waste product and mix it with Beam white and sell it as something special? No thanks.

I do like the Larceny, it's pretty simple and easy to drink, and it's often on sale here in Louisville. I like it at $20/750ml, but it can't compare with the big boys.

Gave it a shot when it first came out. Can't say I hated it, it was pretty good in smell and taste but biggest issue I had with it was it's aftertaste or better yet lack of any. The moment I swallowed it there was NOTHING there. No lingering anything, no finish of any kind at all, might as well use it as mouthwash.....and now that I wrote it I really even mouthwash leaves aftertaste.

If you think Devil's Cut is bad, and IT IS, try, or should I say DON'T TRY their flavored offerings. These were given away as free nips a while back and were the only whiskeys I have ever spit/dumped in the sink.

I'm not a big fan of Beam Whiskey's but I did try their Single Barrel and Signature Craft recently. Along with Booker's & Knob Creek Single Barrel, these are the only Beam's I have cared for.

I'm with you on Devil's Cut but I'm actually enjoying Larceny!
