40th Birthday Suggestion

Hi Everyone!

My husband and I are relatively new to the world of bourbon so I thought I would come here for help....

We are turning 40 this year and I would love to get my husband a very special bottle of bourbon as his gift. Something he can sip, as opposed to a cocktail ingredient. He keeps mentioning Pappy Van Winkle, but not only is that way out of our price range, I've read that there are far better bourbons out there and that Pappy is overrated and used as the goto for those feeling the need to make a status statement (only what I've read....not to offend anyone). My maximum budget is $150 and then it would have to be something extremely special.

Any suggestions, as well as education, would be greatly appreciated!

I would get a bottle of Booker's or maybe a bottle of Four Roses Single barrel, special edition.

If you can get a Parkers Heritage collection bottle that would be great. Any Limited Edition Four Roses small batch. Also, Rock Hill Farms, Four Roses Single Barrel, Weller 12 Year Old, Makers Cask Strength, Bookers and any private barrel you see of Four Roses.
