My opinion, its one of the worst purchases I've made. Taste wise, its just 'ok' to me. When I take into consideration the price I paid, I'm pissed off.

That being said, you are welcome to stop by and try it :)

Can you recommend a good rye? I'm gonna try a bottle to expand my horizons. Kroger's has Knob Creek rye for $22 including a $5 coupon. Think it worth a try.

Yes, the Knob Creek Rye is certainly worth trying. It's a good product at a good price and unique in that the whisky is made by the brand owner rather than sourced from MGP as most are.

I have heard of MGP but didn't know much about them until Goggling last night. I'm sure they make good whiskey products, and I have surely had some in my time, especially Seagram's VO from many years ago. I have no gripe with MGP. I do have a problem with BS marketers packaging good bourbon and passing it of as great bourbon that they themselves made, it's dishonest.

I was specifically referring to MGP Rye which is widely available in a range of labels and prices. Good stuff, even some of the majors (Dickel, Bulleit, to name two) use it, but it's the same basic whisky and fancy packing doesn't make it any better.
