Hi everybody,
I am new to this board and looking forward to some valuable advise here, and perhpas, in time, will be able to contribute some.
Right now, I am looking for a good source of ready-to-use charcoal like is being used for the filtering of bourbon whisky and the likes. Does anyone have a good source? I don't intend to make it myself because the possibility of creating some bad-for-health components using all that burning.

Hey ad, welcome aboard. Sorry, can't help you with the charcoal, what purpose do you have in mind?

For Christmas my wife bought a mason jar of bourbon barrel char for me from Willett. I don't think that is what you are after though, it is intended as more of a 'man-cave potpourri'. Smells wonderful, by the way. Just like walking into a rick-house. Just opened it last night to take a wiff and made me think of tours from last fall.

My intention is to do the “Lincoln County process” like is done by Jack Daniels et.al.

Ah, I see, well you have more patience than I, filtering new make whisky and then waiting 5 years or so to see how it turned out.
