Favorite Watering holes

Unread postby MrPresident » Sun Mar 16, 2014 11:12 pm

Hello,

Hoping you can share your favorite Bourbon bars with me. I travel a bit for work and usually have evenings free to do a little sipping and would love to know some local favorite places to grab a Bourbon. Any hidden gems in your area?

To get things started...

I live in the Dayton OH area. We have a local bar, Century Bar, that specializes in Bourbon and Whiskey. Over 100 different bottles of Bourbon and 100 different bottles of Whiskey. From low end to high end sips. Century Bar is downtown Dayton on Jefferson St. Highly recommend stopping in for a few and trying something you haven't had before.

If you are in Owensboro, KY, The Miller House is a "must". They have over 200 bourbons and the people are great. In Louisville, I like Bourbons Bistro and really any of the bars on the urban bourbon trail. In Chicago, head to Delilahs.

If you are ever in Indiana...drop me a line...and I'll figure something out...there are a few places local in NE Indiana that folks like to talk about...

Personally I'm more of a stay at home drinker...LOL

I was recently in Providence Rhode Island and stopped in at Doherty's Ale House. Had a decent selection of Bourbons for a place known for their Beers on tap.

I love the Century bar in Dayton. The next time you are in there tell Joe I said Hello. If you are in Louisville, the Bourbon's Bistro is my favorite, but there are at least a dozen others that are very good. Dish on Market has a great Presidential Breakfast with a shot of Old Grand Dad. The Silver Dollar has a great selection and a well informed staff. The Brown and Seelbach hotels are also classic Bourbon Bars.

Silver Dollar has a great selection, but is overpriced, I think. The Dish has a very good selection at awesome prices, and good food to boot. During lunch hours, a great home made burger and fries and your choice of a $6 bourbon (think $20 bottles) for $10 total ( I like to get FC103). Feast in New Albany across the river has a pretty good selection too, and some of the best BBQ you will find around here.
