Here are the tasting results for today. The 2006 release of the Birthday Bourbon stood up to it's peers today.

Joe,
Just a thought for discussion. Is it truely fair to place a vatted bourbon against a straight? With straight bourbon you have to deal with what comes out of the bottle. A Vatted product can be designed for the taste profile preferred by the target audience. The same profile that your group consider the best may not stand up in a different group of tasters.

I really do like your weekly tasting results. I find them very interesting. Keep up the good work.

But Mike,
We are only interested in the taste preferences of our group, which, should be a cross section of just about ever bourbon lover. We don't always agree and have different palettes. I also like to introduce vattings against straight bourbons to see if blending can produce a better bourbon than straight bourbon (which is oft times the case). It is the end result that satisfies whether blended or straight. ie. I wish I had a case of Ron's Four Grain. Then I wouldn't have to buy any straight bourbon for a long time.
Best Regards,
Joe
