AH Hirsch Score

Unread postby gluce » Sat Dec 31, 2005 7:00 pm

:D Hi Guys,

I had to share my joy with someone. After I share it with you I will call my father in law.

I just scored AH Hirsch for $55.00 a bottle. I had to buy a case but so what, right!!!!!

I am going to buy as much as I can. Being there are only about 5000 cases left.

The guy told me he is going to be getting in some rare bourbons soon and he will email me with the details. I will let you all know as soon as I hear something.

Not bad for a newbie.

Later,

George

I found the cost of Bourbon wholesale here is the link:

http://www.bourbondc.com/bourbon-drinks.pdf

I hope you find it useful in your negotiations with the liquor retailers.

Later,

George

Ahem!? Wholesale!? I think you mean *RETAIL*. That's a price-list for an over-priced bourbon boutique in DC.

Get your terminology straight: wholesale means what business distributors charge their fellow business clientele before the retail markup.

Thats a good price for the Hirsch, but if you to Binnys.com. they have it for sale at $49.99 a bottle and you dont have to buy a case.

George,
Looks like a wholesale list to me. Where did this list come from?

That's a per-drink (not per-bottle!) price list menu for the bar "Bourbon" in DC.

Joe,

I wish I knew of Binny. Anyway, what I did was cancel that order and place an order for a case with Binny. Saved $114.00. Thank you for the info.

What is funny is that they have a great price on the Hirsch but crappy prices on many other items.

Like the pappy 20 I can get it for 73 bucks, Binny wants 90.00. Old Charter is 35 bucks I can get it for 30 out here. It must be a supply and demand issue in certain parts of the country. Can anyone enlighten me? Also if you know of different places with less of a cost on pappy let me know too. Thanks for the help.

Also I found that price list just looking for bourbon. It looks like a wholesale list to me too. The Hirsch, based on that, is 30 bucks. I felt better paying 47.50 per bottle. Out here they are asking 75 bucks. Last month it was 64.00 and went up by 10.00.

Again Joe, thanks for the tip.

George, I'm pretty sure Gary's right as well. Those prices are per drink somewhere... And many are WAY outta line if you ask me. LeNell I'm sure can confirm that those prices are not wholesale if she happens upon this thread.

Edit: spelling

OneCube is correct. It sure looked like a price list. Who would ever pay 150.00 for a shot of pappy?

I would smuggle a bottle in my pants with a straw!

But Binny is selling me the Hirsch for 47.50 a bottle per case, it did not make sense to buy a bottle and have it shipped.

So 30 bucks looked right for wholesale cost based on 47.50. Oh well, I thought I found out what the cost was to the stores, it would have givem me hope to negotiate.

Thanks One Cube.

Bourbon is a popular bourbon bar in DC.
They are a little confused however-we have no 30 Year Pappy.
I'll give them a call & straighten them out.
