Do you consider Makers 46 to be a bourbon? Same with Woodford double oak? I ask since they are adding other flavors be it other oak ingredients.

46 is ok to me. I agree with most that it is overpriced for what else you can get.

Yes, they are bourbon. Adding toasted staves to a barrel does not alter the whiskey such that it cannot be called straight bourbon.

Here is a pic of the inside of a 46 barrel. Notice the interior staves are toasted and not charred.

After opening my 46 bottle I have to say that it is a very good wheat bourbon. Its very apple sweet nose is inviting and the taste is totally different to me. It tastes very floral and oaky but continues a sweetness into the finish where caramel comes out. Its very warm and could not drink it in the hot Summer. The price is a bit high but to me it is fair. I enjoy it a lot.
