wild turkey 86 and rye 101 seem thicker and richer palate then wild turkey 101?
101 was just not full like these at all. Whats going on? Are they different barrels or something.
Both had NL1002 on them. Also the alcohol was basically all hidden.

I like the WT101 plenty fine and find it has a medium mouth feel. For some reason, I found bourbons from Bardstown area have better mouth feel than stuff from Frankfort area like Wild Turkey, 4 Roses, and Buffalo Trace.

But it might just be my imagination. All bourbon is good bourbon. Examples of Bardstown area bourbons with superior mouth feel are Knob Creek, Ridgemont 1792, Elijah Craig, and Fighting Cock.

The upside of Frankfort area bourbons is complex taste profile, especially four roses. My theory is the water in the two different locations has a big influence on the bourbon.

I just bought Basil. Nope. Dont like it.
Ive had some Bardstown. Do they includes Evan Willaims?
They seem have prickly mouth feel and vicious menthol attack.
Too much for my meager palate.
What are those chicago whiskeys like?
