I'd be hard pressed to find a 12 y/o whiskey with so little character. Found it thin and lacking body. Taste of raw ethanol. Love WLWSR so was expecting a treat, left dissappointed.

Sometimes I find Wheat whiskies a bit thin, sometimes not, never have decided if it's my taste or my preference for rye mash bills generally.

I have to admit, my first pour of Weller 12yr felt thin and lacking body to me as well... Very little character. I'm going to try another pour tonight, but the real plan is to save it till I get another bottle of OWA to try the famous vatting.

Amending my statement on Weller 12 --- Had a nice full pour in a brandy snifter (my visiting mother managed to break my Glencairn crystal glass after having it for a whole 2 weeks).... I can say the Weller 12 is REALLY damn smooth, almost like a scotch. It is a bit thin, for sure, it's a shame that they couldn't get the proof to 100... but there's much more flavor to it then I remembered on my initial try. Looking forward to vatting it with OWA. :)

Tried my Weller 12 tonight.

Color: Deep copper/amber
Nose: Marshmallow, caramel & banana
Taste: Butter, cinnamon, spices
Finish: Oak and butterscotch

Very good stuff. Still have to do a head to head w/ my Lot B.

I have a couple bottles of wlw12 I picked up in Chicago, I have not seen it in the northeast at all. I would need more time with it but I didn't think it was worth more $10 than OWA.

First of all, I really like wheaters.

Secondly, I will always, repeat "ALWAYS" have at least one, if not more bottles of Weller 12 on hand.

I currently have 9 bottles of one variety or another of Weller 12 in my cabinet. Private store bottlings, etc..... At one time I had about 30. Some I drank, some I shared with other bourbon lovers. Like others have stated, Weller 12 is one great (value) pour. A 12 year old bourbon that tastes pretty darn good, and costs under $30 is a no brainer to me.
