Gary, I moved this in with the 86 proof reviews rather than the Bib ones.

You may need to revise your comments about another review of this product? Sorry if this messed you up any.

Okay I'll check, thanks, Jeff. I had trouble finding the right category of OG, thanks for the fix-up.

Jeff, how is it known it was 8 years old? My bottle does not say. Jackson in his 1987 book wrote that it was 10-12 years old (this from memory, I'll check tonight).

I try to put a few different factors in depending on the label in question. I have a few of the 8yr 86's, so, I am certain that it was made with that age statement. Also, I used it because it was the only age I had seen stated and didn't want to leave that space blank.

Proof is what I figured was the easiest to factor in for folks to determine what listing to post their review under.

This format leaves some room for improvement

I'll check again my bottle at home, I don't think it has a statement on it. Of course, there were, no doubt, label variations at the time, just as we see happening today with various brands, so different ND OGs over say 1970-1980 may state different details when it comes to age. I'll check what Jackson said, maybe it was in fact 8 years.
