So Mike and Linn, I know you have tasted this whiskey. When are you going to add a review or at least comment on my review? Let's give people a variety of opinion here.

I have commented and done an informal review on Rye Dog in several posts. Still, I have been meaning to add a review in its proper place for a while and have not gotten around to it. I think your review is an excellent one (as they always are) and I think mine will be similiar but with some slight differences.

Mike,
I would say that if nothing else, your review is bound to be more entertaining than my review. I am sure that you have some takes on the flavors that I missed and with Barleycorn at your side, it is bound to be a superior review. I would hate for people to be stuck with only my opinion and I am sure you and Linn could add quite a bit to the reviews.

I did post a kind of quickie review that I posted on either Mike B's or Mike V's threads about the rye dog. You could transfer those notes if you'd like.

Mike, I visited Delaware Phoenix earlier this year and was surprised to find out that Cheryl has no mashing facilities, since she simply re-distills GNS for her primary product, absinthe. Instead, she does six separate mashes in the still to make enough beer to distill into one run of Rye Dog. Pretty ingenious, but labor-intensive. One of the reasons it retails for upwards of $70.

By the way, I think it's a great spirit, too!

Not only six mashes in the still, but after fermenting, six mash runs in the still followed by (my favorite job of) a spirit run.

I did lower the price considerably so most stores should have it at a more reasonable price.

Just visited yesterday and met Cheryl. This is a woman devoted to making a quality product! Thanks for the tour!

Thanks! Seems like a number of folks were coming by yesterday, so I wasn't able to show you the barrels. Next time!
