1970s Kentucky Beauty bourbon - 6yr

Unread postby FiddlerKY » Sat Dec 03, 2016 10:01 pm

Hi all,

My father found 5 bottles of Kentucky Beauty while going through some things at my grandparents house. Kentucky Beauty was made by Mint Springs Distilling Company in Owensboro, Kentucky (our hometown). My grandmother bought EVERYTHING 1776 so we assumed it was from that year, however someone looking at the tax label believes it's from 1971. They are in a Medley Distilling box dated June 1, 1973.

I've attached some pictures below - any thoughts on the bourbon? How did it taste? Is it collectible? Or should we bust a bottle open in my grandmothers memory (it's been in their attic so temperatures have fluctuated drastically over the last 30+ years)?

Any info you guys have would be great - thanks!

These are an example of the standard Medley Bourbon that fell middle shelf in both price and relative quality. Good everyday stuff then and from the fill level should still be good now. If they were mine I'd open one up.
