Samuel Adams Double Bock

I am sitting here (in the catbird seat) of a late summer afternoon sipping on Samuel Adams Double Bock.

Now, if what you want is a malt meal in a bottle, this is your cup of tea, er ah, beer. It is extraordinarily rich, thick, chocolatey, sweet, flavorful, and filling. It is 9.5% alcohol and yet the alcohol is hardly noticable. The hops are most near overwhelmed and only offer the mildest of protests against the malt tide.

Still, this is a wonderful beer, and, although I am not having food with it, I think a hearty beef stew could benefit from an association with this fellow.

T'ain't for everybodyone to be sure, but I like it some aplenty.
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Dylan Thomas

I agree! It is a very good beer. Bock is one of my favorite styles... along with Barleywine style.
