I recently started trying more bourbons/whiskeys, because i enjoy bourbon barrel aged beer. I am very much a novice to bourbon currently, but am curious if any bourbon drinkers have tried craft beer specifically because it was aged in bourbon barrels, and what your reaction was? I recognize a couple usernames from beeradvocate so the is clearly some overlap

i know a lot of folks that really love them, I am not a big fan. It tends to put a huge sweetness into the beer that I do not care for. The stouts seem to almost go to a sweet beer that is overwhelming... but that is just me.
I was hoping to try some of the bourbon barrel wine, but missed the ones that were done in pappy barrels...

BBA brews are very very tasty, there are quite a few of them around, mostly RIS and IS.

Recently got an Innis & Gunn gift pack, with their Original, Treacle Porter, and Bourbon Stout. All 3 were excellent--I can really taste the wood, it does give a subtle sweetness to the beer that I quite enjoy.
