REBEL YELL

There's a lot of history and 'lore' behind bourbon so discuss both here.

Please, does anyone know whether there was any 2 or 3 year period when REBEL YELL was not available for purchase? I see that the brand went through a number of different owners in the 50's and 60's. Thank you.

I don't know if it was unavailable for 2-3 years. What I do know is it used to be higher proof (the current version is 80). It is a wheated bourbon now made by Heaven Hill. I think it was originally owned by some one else.

Luxco is actually the producer of Rebel Yell, but they are one of the few non-distiller producers to be upfront about the source of their whiskey, which they say is Heaven Hill.
