Who occupied Four Roses in the Past?

There's a lot of history and 'lore' behind bourbon so discuss both here.

Who occupied Four Roses in the Past?

Unread postby Bourbon Joe » Sun Sep 07, 2008 12:49 pm

I was just thinking about all the past residents of what is now Four Roses in Lawrenceburg. Several I know but was wondering if thete were any more. The ones I know are:
1. Old Prentice
2. Old Joe
3. J.T.S. Brown

I don't know the time line for any of them. How far back does the present site go? Anybody know?

After reading Chuck's article I found a few more (Not All). If anybody can add any, please do.

The reason it's not simple, and why I pointed to the WHISKY article, is because there were two distilleries within a few hundreds yards of each other there, and the ownership often switched back and forth. The first distillery on that basic site was in 1818 and there have been one or two distilleries there ever since.
