I am currently a film major at Temple University and am in the process of putting together a piece for a final project this semester. My topic is on the old Kinsey Distillery in Limerick where I grew up. This place has always fascinated me each time I visit what is left of it. A few months ago, I became interested in the real story of this place, not just the fun in exploring it. It has been fairly difficult to find a lot of the information about it, but I have begun to find helpful information here. I would like to know if anyone could supply me with a fairly efficient history of this distillery and share any artifacts they have collected over the years. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone would be willing to conduct any interviews to be placed into this project. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I look forward to hearing back!

Thank You.

Wish I would have been here but Last year did not do any writting Here, But if you need any Information about Publicker and Kinsey Distillery send me an e amil through here and I WILL GET BACK TO YOU I will soon be posting some Pictures again too.
PS Ellen J thanks for the Kind words, would Love to write a book about Kinsey but would need some Professional Help and some Money to spend to do it.
Here is a Picture of two of 3 Explosion Proof Floor Lamps I have built from parts from Kinsey. A floor Lamp made from sealing lamp with a 1930's Explosion proof switch and a caged red emergency explosion proof Light mounted on a old Goose Neck pipe from the plant, with its own red Pilot light and switch.

We, all of us, who are not "writers" need professional help. There are writers and publishers who read this forum; I'm suggesting that someone is passing up a great opportunity by not getting involved with you. And NOT NECESSARILY A HISTORY BOOK, EITHER -- with your background, knowledge, and story-telling talent, a good ghostwriter could make a James Michener-class novel (or two, or three) from your stories.

And about the money. Fuhgettabouddit! You're supposed to be PAID for your work, not the other way around. Anyone who suggests that you contribute money in any way to publishing your book is, at worse, a cheat and a charlatan; at best just an incompetent or unexperienced publisher. Ordinarily you should be paid a healthy sum, $5,000 to $15,000, IN ADVANCE. Supposedly that covers the cost of further research and all the funds you've already spent in assembling the book so far. Those costs might include hiring a professional writer, photographer, and paying copyright fees for some of those historic photos (or legal fees for obtaining permission to publish them). It should cover travel and expenses for going out and getting interviews with people. This is an advance, not a loan. You don't need to repay it; it is pre-paid royalties. The money will be deducted from your share of book sales, and any publisher who doesn't expect that to be only a small portion of what the book will bring is one you should avoid. You probably won't make a whole lot more than the advance, but if the book turns out to be a bestseller (more likely if you use your experience to write a novel instead of a history), your NEXT advance could pay for you retire and devote ALL your time to writing (and by then you probably won't need the pro's help anymore).

The DOWN side of all that is that we'll almost certainly miss all the wonderful stuff you post here free-for-nuthin'. Your publisher isn't about to allow that (remember, what he pays you gives him the ownership of what you write). But hopefully you'll still come and visit with us from time to time, even if just to let us all know how the next book is coming along!

My house here at the Jersey Shore was damaged in Hurricane Sandy and is finally being raised. I found a Continental Distillery Bottle underneath my 107-year-old house and started doing a little research, which led me here. The bottle's not cleaned up, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me the possible year this product was sold and what spirit may have been inside (I think it may have been Rittenhouse Rye)? The bottom says Patent No. 9013 and then some kind of symbol I can't read.

Hello to everyone who wants me to post some new pictures here I will be doing some very soon I am still around and since I was forced to retire I have some time now. I just tried to upload a picture but it is to big so I am going to have to find a resizer to post pictures! I also want to inform any of you that do not know it that the Famous Kinsey Whiskey name has been bought by Millstone Spirits Phila, and they are now making Kinsey Rye Kinsey, 7 Year straight and in the next month there will be a Kinsey Bourbon. I am very lucky to have been part of the name returning as they read my writings and decided to buy the Brand name. They consulted with me and I have tried their Whiskeys and love them! I just can't post Pictures till I can find a way to make my pictures smaller which I hope to do soon. If anyone knows how to get a picture resizer let me know!

Today our HVAC guy found an unopened bottle of Kinsey Blended Whiskey in one of the ducts in our home. It was bottled in 1949 and cost 31 1/4 cents at that time. Curious if it would have any value?
