McClure's Magazine 1909, What is Whisky

I didn't find mention of it anywhere using a search, so I thought I'd share the Google books link. Hopefully I got to the first page of the article, otherwise you might have to page back a couple times. Anyway the article mentions some old brands, including McDuff's Malt Whiskey (apparently simply rectified spirit with coloring, but it did use malt) and he discusses at length the politics between the different gov't groups looking to regulate whiskey and it's production leading up to the Taft Decision. The article is followed by a selection of quotes chosen by the McClure's editor, all denouncing alcohol. :roll:
