Guckenheimer Distillery location

Ellen J,
I love your web site and I had to let you know the location of the Guckenheimer Distillery in Freeport PA. From my Kennedy family history it is known that my Great, Great, Great Grandfather, John T Kennedy worked at both Guckenheimer Distillery and Large Distillery in some capacity. Below is a link to the 1876 map of Freeport. If you find TODDS ISLAND at the bottom right and click at TODD you will see JKennedy and across the little canal from the Pig Pens is the Distillery. The canal no longer exists and little remains of the old distillery. It was located where today Market St deadends into Dam Rd. In 1878 Guckenhiemer purchased the Kennedy home and Grandpa packed it up and moved to West Elizabeth PA to work at Large. Just thought I'd share that little piece of history.
