About a month ago my wife and myself found a bottle locally and did a comparison with the old yellow label Rye.

My wife really likes the old yellow label in an old-fashioned and still prefers it over the pre-prohibition version. Not sure if they will continue both but we have been buying up all the yellow label we can find us because they may not continue it.

There is definitely a taste difference between the two, but I like them both.

I found a bottle today, it's 90 proof vs 80 for the yellow label so I can't imagine they are eliminating ol' yellow label for a higher proof item. Haven't opened it yet to comment.

It's a good basic rye. With its price point and 90-proof strength, I use it for Manhattan's if I'm out of Rittenhouse Rye.
