Mostly made cordials and pre-mixed cocktails, but still involved in the American Whiskey industry and deserved a timeline.

Heublein Inc. History

1818 - Smirnoff distillery is established in Moscow, Russia (Liquor Store Magazine, Feb., 70).

1862 - Andrew Heublein founds the company (Beverage Media Blue
Book, History of Heublein).

o - The company is founded as a restaurant and hotel business (1966 Red Book, p.233).

1875 - The company is incorperated (Bev Med Blue Book,
History).

1890 - Gilbert F Heublein takes over his father's business (Liquor Store Magazine, Feb., 70).

1892 - Heublein sells its first ready made cocktails (Bev Med
Blue Book, History).

1911 - The 1911 Financial Index by Mida's Critriteria list Heublein, G F and Bro. as being rectifiers and foriegn agents located at 196 Trumbull St., Hartford, Conneticut with a capital value of $400,000 to $500,000.

1915 - Incorporated in Connecticut as G.F. Heublein, Inc. (1966 Red Book, p.233).

1934 - John G Martin, Andrew Heublein's great-grandson who
later becomes President of Heublein, joins the firm
(Bev Med Blue Book, History).

1935 - Destileria Serralles Inc. (Don Q Rum) is founded at Ponce, Puerto Rico (Liquor Store Magazine, 2/70).

1939 - Heublein acquires all rights to Smirnoff Vodka (Liquor Store Magazine, Feb., 70).

1940 - Rudolph Kunett, the Vice President who first produced
Smirnoff in the U.S., joined the company (Bev Med Blue
Book, History).

1948 - Irish Mist is introduced (Liquor Store Magazine, 2/70).

1955 - Heublein, Inc is adopted as the name of the company (1966 Red Book, p.233).

1961 - Ralph A Hart joins the firm as the new President of
Heublein (Who's Who in the Liquor Industry, 1966).

o - Acquires Escoffier, Limited in England and Timely Brands, inc., Easy Products, Inc., and Timely Brands (Canada) Limited (1966 Red Book, p.233).

1964 - Acquires 93.3% of Arrow Liqueurs Corporation (1966 Red Book, p.233).

1965 - Acquires the Theo Hamm Brewing Company (1966 Red Book, p.233).

1966 - Heublein becomes the distributor of Jose Cuervo Tequila (Liquor Store Magazine, 2/70).

1968 - Heublein is exclusive importer of Don Q Rum (Liquor Store Magazine, 2/70).

1969 - Heublein packages cocktails in 8oz cans (Liquor Store Magazine, Feb., 70).
