Has anyone seen this tequila? It is aged in either Van Winkle, Stagg, BT or Saz barrels. Going to have to try it.

Corazon is owned by Sazerac so it kinda makes sense they would try this. I have never been a fan of Corazon tequila though, and at $70-80 a bottle I doubt I will buy one. I'd like to try one or two though, just to see. If you want to try a good sippin tequila, get some Don Julio Anejo. Reasonably priced and very bourbon like in it's smoothness and character.

Cheers,
RG

Interesting

If you ever get the chance, Siete Leguas is the best I've had. Although Paradiso is a close second.

El Tesaro Paradiso I assume? Yeah, that's really good stuff. But then at $120 a bottle, it should be. Don Julio makes something called 1942, which is in that same price range. Again, an excellent tequila. Another one that come to mind, and comes in a little cheaper at $90 or so, is Grand Mayan Extra. This one really has a cognac/bourbon flare.

Cheers,
RG

Just noticed that this thread was started last September.

The new batch of these just hit shelves.

I bought two of the ORWV and two of the Sazerac. The former because the reviews seemed to say it was the one with the smoothest profile, the latter for the high spice and proof.

I like tequila, and I've enjoyed Corazon tequila, too, so I figure it's interesting enough for me to give it a shot.

I'm curious though. Did I have to act fast to get these? Or did they sit on shelves for a while when they were released last September?

Hard to believe nobody here tried one! :) I'd like to try mine and report, but firstly I'm working offshore for the next three weeks, and secondly, I'm trying to kill some of my open bottles in order to keep things fresh. I do promise to get back with results when the time comes, though!
