Barrel aged Rum

Unread postby Satty Beach » Tue Jan 22, 2013 10:26 am

Recently aquainted with Ron Medellin Anejo 3 year old for export. Really a nice product. Almost more like a very fine sipping tequila than a rum. (Results vary. This rum is NOT for everyone) Is anyone else familiar with this product? Sorry for the OT but can we ask for a rum thread? Another nice aged rum is Barbancourt, which, if your discount zombies, is Haitis' true gift to the world. It's a more typical rum profile. IDK if it REALLY needs the vanilla boost though.
Taken the cure.

^^^ yes, yes, yes!
also try El Dorado 15 and Pyrate Rum.

El Dorado is all around awesome sipping rum. Add a bit of rocks and lemon drops and it's a done deal :) Best sweet sipping thing you can sip on! Irrc it's in upper $30s
Pyrate Rum is on the border line of "awesome sipping" and "great mixer" but those that do like it like it a whole lot, def worth a try especially at $25 price point.
