notice some spice, cinammon, and a butteriness | Taste: | [Description of the initial taste impression]
smooth and wonderful spice, but not sweet. almost a dash of caramel. | Finish: | [Description of the lingering taste impression]
Soft and supple with spice | Overall: | [Overall impression of this bottling]
I've lived in Ky for 14 years and tried virtually all bourbons. This is the only one i LOVE neat. What a great sipper. Incredible sensation on the tongue. It's now my top bourbon, unless I get a bottle of 15 year old Van Winkle. |

Review from Chinpo (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 1657, Created:20090819110747) Purchased at: | Boston - Charles St. (Good assortment of potables - but the prices!) | Purchased for: | Same as WT Rare Breed $45 An outrage! | Info on this bottle: | Batch 42 / Bottle 66 | Nose: | [Olfactory impressions] | Taste: | Lots of taste for this proof. Sweet to almost syrupy with not
much harshness. Reminds me of Woodford Reserve and
Ridgemont 1792; better than the former but not the later.
If you like ETL or Blantons you might like this. Good neat. | Finish: | [Description of the lingering taste impression] | Overall: | This style whiskey suits my style of drinking. An example of
lower octane product with big taste. |

Review from Frezo (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 929, Created:20071201203246, Updated:20090518130101) Purchased at: | New Hampshire State Liquor Store | Purchased for: | $25.99 | Info on this bottle: | Batch #50 Bottle #185 | Proof Of this Bottle: | 86 | Nose: | Carmel and slight citrus with subtle fruit | Taste: | Pleasing "corn sweetness" of carmel and vanilla changing to a flat leathery prominence at mid tounge. It's nothing bitey or spikey, but pleasantly consistent and pushes any sweetness into the background. | Finish: | Peppery sweetness tapering into allspice and oak. There is a minimal rye tingle at the end. | Overall: | This is enjoyable and different with the difference being in the middle taste. I love a pour that has its own characteristic and liked this more than McLain & Kyne's Jefferson's which reminded me of Ridgemont Reserve and look forward to trying Jefferson's Rserve. I recommend this to someone not expecting an "in your face" experience, but rather a balanced potpourri of flavors that results in distinction. |
