Review from ethangsmith (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 1815, Created:20100307165352) Purchased at: | Wine Source in Baltimore, MD | Purchased for: | 8.50 | Info on this bottle: | 1L bottle. | Nose: | Not much oakiness, but not overtly biting and alcohol smelling. | Taste: | Smoother than expected at 36 months. Corny. Not a ton of depth. Very simple. | Finish: | Short, but not as bitter as expected. No nasty aftertastes. | Overall: | At a young 36 months and less than nine dollars for a liter, I wasn't expecting much. However, I was surprised at how smooth and subdued it was. Not much real flavor but the flavor that was there was not at all unpleasant. For the cost (and the AWESOME label artwork!) I will probably keep buying it as one of my cheap bottom shelf whiskeys. |

Review from tlsmothers (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 165) Purchased at: | LeNell's Ltd, New York City | Purchased for: | $11.00 | Info on this bottle: | yellow label that says "DISTILLED FOR AND BOTTLED BY CABIN STILL DISTILLERY BARDSTOWN, KENTUCKY" Little print in the lower right hand corner shows a 1974 copyright C.S.D. | Proof Of this Bottle: | 80 | Nose: | Minimal, simple nose. | Taste: | Light in flavor, soft caramel like sweetness up front that then fizzles into a more medicinal taste. | Finish: | Walnut bitterness on the end | Overall: | Nothing fancy, but a good looking bottle with a decent enough bottom shelf flavor to put behind the bar as a well brand mixing bourbon. |
