Purchased at:Carrollton, GA
Purchased for:9.49
Info on this bottle:Green Label Heaven Hill Old Style
Proof Of this Bottle:90
Nose:Sweet, light nose with no sign of char or caramel; just light rye spice
Taste:A nice sting (not burn) from the alcohol and rye. Light caramel or maple flavor, much like a young, raw Canadian whisky. Like the nose, no char or other barrel flavors.
Finish:Short, light sting, a little maple sweetness.
Overall:Very little bourbon flavor for a 90 proof and (so I've read) six-year-old bourbon. If you told me it was really less than 2 years old, I would believe you. I wanted to like it, but it ends up a disappointment.

Purchased at:PA LCB Store
Purchased for:$10.49/liter
Info on this bottle:Old Style Bourbon
Nose:Not much nose. I hate to say it but it almost smells like nail polish remover. A sweet nail polish remover.
Taste:A little pepper, cinnamon, sweet corn, understated but not really too bad either.
Finish:A 5 second burn, a little heat and after 30 seconds, it's all over.
Overall:At $10.49 a liter (regular price in the commonwealth of PA), this works out to $7.87 for a 750/ml bottle. I cannot think of a better bourbon buy. I drink this formulation with coke or neat. At this price it is a great value and is totally drinkable. Not a bottle that will impress your friends but I have had a lot worse. If offered I will accept if my wallet happens to be thin and I'm thirsty, I will buy.

Purchased at:Big-D
Purchased for:$2.98
Info on this bottle:1978 7 year old 200 ml
Proof Of this Bottle:86
Nose:Big and bold. Fruity, nutmeg, spices. Refined.
Taste:Bannanas, cinnamon, smooth and rich. Corn sweetness. Balanced and again refined.
Finish:Medium to long with bannanas from start to finish.
Overall:Top notch Heaven Hill. I don't get a budget bourbon impression from this one. Bold and well rounded. Reminds me alot of Yellowstone from this era. Any suggestions on how to make a 200 ml last for 50 more years?
